Kurbanlarını özenle seçer ve oldukça profesyonel şekilde cinayetler işler. Küçüklüğünden bu yana insanlarla iletişiminde problemler vardır. Soğuk ve ilgisiz bir çocuk olarak büyümüştür. Babasının etkisiyle adli tıp görevlisi olmuş, bu yolla katillere daha yakın olarak kendine yeni yöntemler öğrenmiş ve de aynı zamanda katillerin aklından geçenleri anlamasıyla olayları daha kolay çözmeye başlamıştır.
“Dexter”, sıradışı bir karakterin karanlık iç dünyasını, toplumla olan soğuk ilişkilerini başarıyla ekrana yansıtan, TV’de sıkça göremeyeceğimiz ürküten cinayet sahneleri barındıran bir dizi. Kesinlikle alışık olduğumuz CSI tarzı dizilere benzemiyor. Oldukça karanlık, sert ve soğuk. Tüm dizi takipçilerinin izlemesi gerek.
